"The simplistic beauty of the dizi,
of the most ancient of instruments,
unchanged throughout the years,
still falls sweetly upon the ears."

Chinese Flute Tassles

A tassle can make your dizi look better. They are almost always red, mainly because red is a lucky color in chinese. They come in all shapes and sizes.

In chinese culture, tassles are not only used for dizi, but are hung almost anywhere, for appearances and good luck. For example, you may hang a tassle on the door knob, on the wall, its also common to decorate the outside of the front door to your house with big red signs and optionally tassles.

Some tassles have "money" in them, which means that it may bring you luck making money. Other tassles have jade statuettes inside, which are often one of the 12 chinese horoscopes.

To sum up, they look nice, and can be used anywhere.
