"The simplistic beauty of the dizi,
of the most ancient of instruments,
unchanged throughout the years,
still falls sweetly upon the ears."

Yanni's "Nightingale"

This YouTube video show's a jade Chinese flute being played in Yanni's "Nightingale" in Beijing played by flute soloist Pedro Eustache.

In this piece, flute soloist Mr. Eustache is playing a dizi in the key of "D" made out of black jade. The piece is in B minor.

Yanni's "Nightingale" definitely is an amazing piece. If you have heard a jade flute before, you could recognize it here. It has a distinct sound - not quite equaled by bamboo flutes or wooden flutes - more subtle yet more powerful.
